Day Off- Your Business Will Prosper If You Have A…

by- Tom Kubrak

Are things start to get backed up in your business?

Are you finding yourself asking the question… “Why hasn’t this been done yet?” Upon noticing something you said needs to get done ASAP two months later…

There’s many reasons that could be the case including, overworking yourself, staying up to late, taking on too many projects, etc.

The big one that happens a lot is when small business owners or first time business owners decide to be open 7 days a week.

TAKE A DAY OFF and use that day to…

  1. Get recharged
  2. Do something fun that you’ve been wanting to do for awhile
  3. Go on a hike, bike ride, swim, etc.
  4. Reach out to the kid that you’ve been ignoring
  5. Help someone out
  6. Volunteer
  7. Connect with your employees
  8. Clean up.
  9. Connect with the people in your community by attending an event they are hosting
  10. Plan out the next week for your business
  11. Inspect your business for any new things you could do to improve it
  12. Take care of little petty things that will become a nuisance later on in the week that you may not be able to get to

Some people are so afraid of taking a day off because their afraid they’ll miss something. I’m afraid of not taking a day off and missing the opportunity that’s right in front of me because I’m too tired and burnt out to say hi to the person that could  turn my business around.

It’s about taking a “Break from the money” to remind yourself that there is more in life going on outside your business’ cash register.

When you take a break from the money too, it allows you to have a different view on your business that allows you to see things that you don’t normally see when your constantly focused on each dollar and customer coming through your door. You start to notice improvements you can make, people you need to connect with, phone calls you missed, etc.

When you’re constantly focused on customers and money you start to forget things that truly matter to you. You not only start to lose yourself in the madness of catching up with the next big deal but you start to lose key members to your team because you forgot to notice the great things they were doing because you were “Too busy.”

Change it up a little and…

Enjoy your day off:)
